Privacy Policy

This policy explains the information K.O.T. may collect, why it is used, and the choices available to you.

Last updated: October 23, 2026

1. About K.O.T.

K.O.T. — Keeper of Things helps people document meaningful objects, collections, memories, and stories. Features may include private collections, public or followers-only sharing, discussions, comments, direct messages, reporting, moderation, search, discovery, and notifications.

K.O.T. is operated by Benjamin Zachary Boykin. Privacy inquiries: zach@keeper-of-things.com.

2. Information we may collect

Collector verification applications include your account name and username, verified account email, application explanation, and optional supporting links. Only the K.O.T. owner reviews applications in a private verification website. We store the application, decision, verification badge, and delivery status for application-receipt and acceptance emails. Cloudflare Email Service processes the recipient address and email contents to send those transactional confirmations. Application and email records are removed when your account is deleted, subject to the limited retention described below.

3. How we use information

K.O.T. may use information to operate and secure accounts, sync collections, store and display content according to the audience you select, support search and discovery, deliver optional notifications, process reports, moderate abuse, troubleshoot errors, prevent misuse, and maintain service reliability.

4. Service providers

K.O.T. uses Firebase and related Google services for functions that may include authentication, databases, file storage, cloud functions, push messaging, diagnostics, and app infrastructure. K.O.T. also supports Sign in with Apple and Google sign-in when selected by the user. Cloudflare processes transactional report-alert emails sent to the operator. These alerts may include report reasons, account identifiers, content references, and limited evidence needed to review abuse. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics provide app-usage and reliability information. Firebase App Check and Apple App Attest process app and device attestation signals to help protect backend access from unauthorized clients. These security checks do not read your keepsake content. K.O.T. uses OpenAI to screen submitted public and community text and images for safety before publication. This includes keepsake text and images, comments, discussion posts and replies, and profile text and photos. The submitted content is sent from our backend to OpenAI to obtain safety classifications. Flagged submissions may be held for human review. Private direct messages are not sent to OpenAI for automated moderation. Rule-based checks, rate limits, reporting, blocking, and human review remain available. Automated checks can make mistakes; users can edit and resubmit or request human review by contacting zach@keeper-of-things.com. Serious account actions are decided by the operator. Screening results, limited text, content references, and moderation evidence may be retained in restricted Firebase records to validate submissions, prevent abuse, and review reports. These providers may process information as needed to provide their services and are subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

5. Sharing and visibility

K.O.T. does not sell personal information. Content you publish publicly may be visible to other users. Followers-only content is intended for accepted followers. Content kept private is intended to remain private unless you choose to publish or share it. Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or protect the service.

6. Data retention and account deletion

You can initiate account deletion from Settings in the app. The deletion process removes your authentication account, profile information, keepsakes and associated media, and related account data from active systems. A blank account reference may remain so existing links do not restore a deleted profile. K.O.T. may retain limited information when reasonably necessary for legal obligations, safety, fraud or abuse prevention, security, dispute resolution, audits, backups, or enforcement of agreements. Backup copies may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.

7. Your choices

You can control profile and audience settings available in the app, manage notification permissions through your device, block users, remove content you control where available, and request account deletion. For additional privacy questions, contact us through the Support page.

8. Children

K.O.T. is not intended for children under 13. If applicable law requires a higher minimum age, that higher age applies. Users who are under the age of majority in their jurisdiction should use K.O.T. only with any permission required from a parent or guardian.

9. Security

K.O.T. uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Do not store secrets, sensitive documents, passwords, private keys, government IDs, financial credentials, or other information you would not want stored or shared with the audience you select.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as K.O.T. changes. The “Last updated” date will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate method.
